Dover, NH - Eddie Edwards, candidate for Congress in New Hampshire’s 1st Congressional District, released the following statement regarding why Carol Shea-Porter's behavior is the reason why people hate politics:
“When residents of a district elect a Member of Congress, they rightfully expect they have chosen a leader who will represent them respectfully and with a level of decorum. We might not always agree on the issues, but we still assume our congresswoman will honor the fact that her job in Washington is to represent every resident of the district, not just the extremes of a single political party. Regrettably, Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter has proven once again that she doesn’t understand that concept. Real Granite State families in our district, of all political affiliations, are suffering. However, despite premiums skyrocketing and the accessibility and quality of healthcare diminishing due to her partisan vote in 2010, Carol Shea-Porter is engaging in childish sing-alongs on the House floor. How incredibly embarrassing for our state.
"Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter likes to tout that she is fighting ‘for the rest of us,’ but her inappropriate and politically charged behavior on the House floor clearly continues to prove her only concern is to further divide the country for what she incorrectly perceives as a partisan gain. Granite Staters deserve better."
