Eddie Edwards Unveils Veterans Coalition

August 31, 2017

Dover, New Hampshire – Eddie Edwards, Republican candidate for Congress in New Hampshire’s 1st Congressional District, has unveiled the first members of his VeteransCoalition.

A military veteran himself, Eddie served in the United States Navy at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. He was promoted to a leadership role as a 3rd Class Petty Officer. During his service, he also received the distinction of a 4.0 Sailor, the highest score for performance evaluation in the Navy at that time. Some of his duties included being a coxswain of Navy tugboats and police boats, as well as serving as base Auxiliary Security at the Shipyard. Eddie was also responsible for training newly-assigned sailors to his unit. He was recognized for his high level of physical readiness and received the Navy Medal for Expert Pistol.

Eddie loves his country and the men and women who fight every day to secure our freedom. He continues to serve his fellow veterans through community service and by participating on a number of boards serving veterans and their families.

Eddie Edwards made the following statement in response to releasing his VeteransCoalition:

"It is important to remember that we are asking less than 1% of the United States population to serve and protect a nation of nearly 330 million people. During the early 1970s, the United States Congress embodied patriotism with roughly 70% of Congress having prior military service. I’m not suggesting military service should be a requirement for running for Congress, however living by a code of ethics and benefiting from the standard of integrity instilled in those who have served creates truth in leadership.

"Granite State veterans can be assured that if I am elected to represent them in Washington, I will live by the values ingrained in me during my time in the service, and I will fight for them every single day."

Knowing that Eddie will fight in Congress on behalf of all veterans, the following individuals will be leading his Veterans Coalition and working hard to help him earn the support of those who have served:

  • Paul Chevalier of Hudson, Sergeant Major, USMC: “As a retired Marine Corps veteran with over 30 years active service, I proudly endorse Eddie Edwards' candidacy for the U.S. Representatives for New Hampshire's First Congressional District. Eddie Edwards is a veteran of the U.S. Navy and has experience in Law Enforcement, having served as Police Chief in South Hampton, as well as reaching the position of Chief of the Enforcement Division of the New Hampshire Liquor Commission. Eddie’s military experience and law enforcement history uniquely qualifies him to serve in Congress. His moral values and integrity are evident to everyone who gets to know him.”

  • Dave Kenney of Hooksett, Commander, USN: “Eddie Edwards will bring a much needed veteran's perspective to our government leadership. I believe he will be an ardent and consistent voice to ensure that our veterans' care will be appropriately funded and reliable so that no veteran will have to fight another government bureaucracy to get the level of care they’ve earned.”

  • John Kroehler of Manchester, USAF: “I first met Eddie at a Veterans of Foreign Wars department meeting. I was very impressed with his credentials, and I know he will bring strength and leadership as the Congressman from New Hampshire's First Congressional District.”

  • Hillary Seeger of Meredith, USAF: “Eddie has conservative values, and I know he will work hard to put forth those values as he serves our district. I am confident that he will represent us all honorably and in a manner that will make us proud to have such representation from New Hampshire.”
