Eddie Edwards Signs Term Limits Pledge

September 28, 2017

"We are only going to change Congress when we stop electing career politicians and start enacting laws that limit their tenure."

Dover, NH - Eddie Edwards has signed the U.S. Term Limits Amendment Pledge, which solidifies his promise to Granite Staters that he "will cosponsor and vote for the U.S. Term Limits Amendment of three (3) House terms and two (2) Senate terms and no longer limit."

After signing the pledge, Eddie Edwards, candidate for Congress in NH-01, released the following statement:

"Washington is broken because our elected officials are too busy worrying about their next election rather than achieving results for American families. They are unwilling to tackle the tough issues because for many, representation in Congress has become about personal careers rather than about service for the people. That's wrong.

"We are only going to change Congress when we stop electing career politicians and start enacting laws that limit their tenure. The parameters outlined in the U.S. Term Limits Amendment are a great start, but I believe we can take even more actions to ensure Senators, Members of Congress, and even their staffers are forced to make their time in Washington about serving their constituents rather than lucrative career advancement.

"If I am honored to represent NH-01 in Congress, the voters have my word that regardless of whether the language of this amendment becomes law, I will impose these limits on my own tenure in Washington. This is not nor will it ever be a career for me, but rather a continuation of my commitment to public service."
