Dover, NH – Eddie Edwards, a Republican candidate for Congress in NH-01, issued the following statement in response to President Donald Trump's visit to New Hampshire to discuss the opioid epidemic.
"I welcome President Donald Trump’s visit to the Granite State and commend his continued focus on the important issues surrounding the opioid epidemic in our state."
“Here in New Hampshire, I have been a tireless advocate in the fight against the ongoing opioid epidemic. As a police chief and through the various non-profits I have worked with, I have seen the painful effects that drugs have had on our communities. It must be a major focus of our elected leaders in Washington.
“While there is always more we must be doing to address this health crisis, I applaud President Trump for including additional resources to fight the drug epidemic in his proposed budget and for working with states to speed up access for those who are fighting addiction. We must continue to work together to explore options that will save lives immediately.”
