Dover, NH – In response to Bruce Crochetiere leaving the Republican primary in New Hampshire's 1st Congressional District today, career politician Senator Andy Sanborn made disparaging comments about Eddie Edwards' lifetime of service in the United States Military and law enforcement. Following Crochetiere's announcement, Sanborn attacked Edwards, calling him "a lifelong government bureaucrat turned lobbyist."
Collectively, Edwards has given 27 years of service to our country as a Navy Veteran and to the State of New Hampshire as a law enforcement officer.
In response to Sanborn's snide remarks, Eddie Edwards issued the following statement:
"It is disgraceful that State Senator Andy Sanborn would use a fellow Republican's exit from this race as an opportunity to make disparaging comments about another Republican. But it is even more shocking that in doing so, he would make defamatory remarks about someone's commitment to serving our nation and state. Unfortunately, this behavior is not out of the ordinary for Senator Sanborn who is notoriously known for being a political chameleon covered in a shroud of unethical behavior.
"Sanborn should be ashamed to have classified service in the military and law enforcement as being a bureaucrat. Sanborn's tone reflects the disrespect that our veterans and law enforcement community face every day. It also reflects his view of service and those that have sacrificed so much."
